Hello everyone, and welcome to my website!

My name is Sean McQuillan. I am from Long Island, New York, and chose Pitt to pursue my dreams of working in the sports and live news broadcasting industry.

Ever since I was five years old, I’ve been providing commentary from the living room couch—sometimes by muting the television to deliver my own play-by-play, other times by narrating the “epic battles” between my dad and younger brother on the video game console.

I even took it a step further in elementary school, writing mock newspaper articles that I proudly “published” to my teachers—clearly convinced I was already a journalist in the making.

Those early habits grew into something more lasting: a genuine passion for storytelling. And for me, the stories I love most to tell are the ones found in sports and the people who bring them to life.

I am a junior at the University of Pittsburgh pursuing a B.A. in Media and Professional Communications at the University of Pittsburgh, with certificates in Television & Broadcast Arts and Sports Studies. Along the way, I’ve worked across nearly every side of sports media—from producing with Pitt Studios (ACC Network) and The College Sports Company to on-air and writing for The Pitt News, WPTS-FM Radio, CBS-KDKA Radio, Pittsburgh Baseball Now, and even PR with the Pittsburgh Penguins.

I currently serve as the Media and Professional Communications Student Ambassador at the University of Pittsburgh, helping future communicators find their voice and navigate their own path through the media world.

"If they stare you let them stare. You can't blend in, when you were born to stand out."
