About Me
My name is Sean McQuillan. I am from Long Island, New York, and chose Pitt to pursue my dreams of working in the sports and live news broadcasting industry.
I am currently a Media Relations Intern for the Pittsburgh Penguins, a Content Writing Intern for The College Sports Company, a Video & Broadcast Production Assistant at the ACC Network, the Associate Head Sports Director of WPTS-FM Sports Radio, and a Staff Writer for the Pitt News Sports Desk.
Along with this, I am an active member of the Pitt Men’s Club volleyball team, serve as the recruitment chair for the Broadcasting Club, and am the Philanthropy Chair of the Sigma Alpha Mu Fraternity.
As a young broadcast journalist, I have been honored with accolades and earning recognition in the form of multiple awards from the Long Island Press Club, the National Student Production Emmy Awards, Student Television Network, and my very own Bellmore-Merrick Broadcasting program, which under my direction grew to one of the most prestigious high school programs in the country. I was honored to be inducted into the Bellmore-Merrick Broadcasting Hall of Fame Class of 2023.
I am a junior at the University of Pittsburgh studying Media and Professional Communications with certificates in Television & Broadcast Arts and Sports Studies, planning to graduate in the fall of 2026.
